Lately, the computer industry has decided to shift its focus to a slightly younger demographic. No, it’s not those technology-loving college kids, or even those teenagers with infinite knowledge of the Internet. Instead it’s middle-school kids - ages six through 12.
The world’s largest PC manufacturer, HP, recently announced the release of its new Mini-Note PC laptop - a small, rugged, light and cheap computer designed primarily for children. More likely than not, HP’s decision to produce the Mini-Note is a direct result of the success of Asus’s Eee computer. Since its initial release last year, Asus’s Eee PC has become a top seller. Tip 1: Power Down the Display
Do you know one of the most effective ways to conserve laptop battery life is to lower the brightness of the screen display? Its been known that lowering one level of screen brightness will yield up to 10 more minutes of battery life. You can easily do this by going to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display and clicking the Settings tab. You can also disable those cool effects like ClearType fonts and fade effects to reduce the CPU’s power consumption.
Tip 2: Turn Off Unused Devices
And here’s another tip for you. As you may know, many modern laptops have a Wi-Fi built in. Unknown to many people, that Wi-Fi connection is a power guzzler! Make sure you turn off the Wi-Fi connection using the external Wi-Fi on-off switch. Read the rest of this entry »

More and more people due to the cost of laptops coming down are now having problems with the way they work with them. This is due to the way that they are built with the screen, keyboard and pointing device all connected, great for portability but not good for the back, arms and eyes. Most people buy an external mouse which makes it more comfortable to use but not many people buy any other accessories such as an external keyboard or laptop stand. By getting an external keyboard you are then able to move the screen away from you making it easer on the eyes and with a laptop stand you can then bring your screen up to a great working height.

The first time you heard about notebook, what did you think? If you ask me the same question, I was thinking about a paper or a diary with a pen on it.
